"My State Farm representative she was very professional. She went over everything with me concerning my policies. She made sure that I fully covered with my car insurance and renters insurance. She even checked with to make sure that I was covered in my life insurance and let me know that if I choose to that I always have the option to add life insurance. "State Farm handled my claim in a way that felt completely unfair and inconsistent. Their insured driver backed out of a parking space directly into my vehicle while I was traveling through the lane. Despite clear physical damage consistent with this, a police report supporting my position, and my immediate attempt to avoid the accident by braking and using my horn, State Farm still assigned me 50% liability. Even more concerning, the explanation for this decision changed multiple times throughout the process, none of which aligned with the actual facts of the accident. It became clear that they were not interested in objectively evaluating the facts and instead defaulted to protecting their insured, leaving me to cover costs for an accident I did not cause. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution anyone to carefully consider how claims are handled before choosing State Farm."

"Hey Hannah, Thank you for taking the time to share this. I can absolutely understand how frustrating that situation must feel, especially when you believe the facts clearly support your position. I did want to clarify a couple of things that may help provide context. Our local office was not directly involved in your policy or claim, as each State Farm agency is independently owned and services its own customers. Claims decisions are handled by State Farm’s centralized claims department, not at the individual agency level. Parking lot accidents can be particularly challenging to evaluate, as they often involve multiple factors and limited independent evidence. Because of this, outcomes can vary from case to case depending on the details available. That said, I don’t want to minimize your experience. If the explanation you received felt inconsistent, I can understand how that would add to your frustration. The best next step would be to follow up directly with the claims team to request a detailed review or clarification, especially if there is additional information they can consider. If there’s anything our office can help clarify from a general standpoint, we’re always happy to assist. Wishing you the best moving forward! "
